UWF appoints Cindy Faria to associate vice president of Human Resources

The University of West Florida (UWF) has appointed Cindy Faria to the role of associate vice president of Human Resources, effective July 16, 2012. In this position, Faria is responsible for directing and administering the university’s Human Resource programs.

Faria is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and holds the distinction of a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

Recently, Faria served as UWF’s associate director of Human Resources, where she was responsible for managing recruitment, employment, position classification, performance management, workers’ compensation, equal opportunity and affirmative action. Prior to this holding position, Faria also served as assistant director of Human Resources and employee relations manager. Faria began working at the University of West Florida in 2006.

“I am pleased to have Cindy Faria head the Human Resources Department as our new associate vice president,” said vice president of Administrative Services, Matthew Altier. “Her many years of experience both here at UWF along with the private sector will be of great benefit as we grow and move the university forward.”

Before joining UWF, Faria worked for Landrum Professional as senior human resources manager to more than 100 client companies from 1997 to 2006. In addition, Faria served as a customer service department manager and employment manager at Network USA/Metrocall, Inc. She started her professional career as an administrator for an ambulatory surgical facility.

Faria is a graduate of the University of West Florida and a Pensacola native.
