UWF provides out-of-state tuition and fee waivers for residents of Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands

The University of West Florida will allow students who are residents of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to qualify for in-state tuition.

President Saunders authorized the decision yesterday in support of Gov. Rick Scott’s commitment to help the communities severely impacted by the recent hurricanes.

“At UWF, we understand the stress of hurricane-related displacement,” said UWF President Martha Saunders. “I am happy to support the Governor’s request to assist those in need.”

Students with a permanent address in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are eligible for a waiver of out-of-state tuition and out-of-state fees for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters. Additional semesters will be addressed in the future.
