UWF library locations open with new guidelines, increased cleanings

All University of West Florida library locations are now open to UWF students, faculty and staff, with new hours, guidelines and enhanced cleaning due to COVID-19.

Theatre major Collin Crews wears face protection on the UWF campus on July 8, 2020.

Per UWF guidelines, face coverings must be worn, an institutional identification card or valid username is required to enter any library location and the Daily COVID-19 Pre-screening must be completed prior to visiting. Library locations remain closed to the general public.

To increase the safety of the library environment, study carrels and group study rooms are not available. All computers will be socially distanced to ensure physical distancing of students. The third and fourth floor Pace Library book stacks are currently unavailable. Library staff will be on hand to assist with retrieving items from this area. Other library spaces and offerings may be modified and will be limited in capacity and subject to limited availability or closure, based on direction from the University to promote social distancing.

“We’ve been working hard to ensure a safe return to all of our locations,” said Stephanie Clark, Dean of Libraries. “While things may look a little different with social distancing protocols in place, the services remain the same. Textbook Reserves, laptops and other equipment are available to check out. Library faculty are ready to assist faculty and students with all their research needs. We’re looking forward to a great fall semester.”

All library locations will have limited hours of operation and the schedule may change abruptly due to multiple factors, including University directive. UWF Libraries hours may be found at the UWF Libraries Hours of Operation webpage.
