UWF invites supporters to give, battle for their decade in University’s third Day of Giving

UWF will host its third annual Day of Giving, a 24-hour online fundraising initiative, on Thursday, April 15. Day of Giving is a social-media-driven effort that supports the University and its programs.

University Advancement promotes Argonaut-branded socks to those who donate gifts on UWF's annual Day of Giving.

Alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends are invited to make gifts online at, directing their contributions to any of the 11 categories, with more than 70 funds. The goal for the initiative is to bring all Argos together on one day and make a lasting impact for current and future students.

This year’s theme will be Battle of the Decades. UWF alumni are encouraged to make a donation for the decade they graduated in. Each decade’s progress will be displayed throughout the day on UWF’s Day of Giving website. UWF supporters who are not alumni are encouraged to support the decade when they first got involved with UWF such as when they visited the UWF campus, attended a UWF event or when they made their first gift to support the University. For each gift of $30 or more, participants will receive a pair of exclusive Argo print socks.

“We’re excited to provide a fun way to rally for UWF and come together for a friendly competition which will benefit UWF students,” said Kathleen Norwood, annual giving officer and UWF Day of Giving organizer. “Participating in Day of Giving is a great way to share Argo Pride and cap off Founders Week.”

Argos and friends are encouraged to invite others to give and spread awareness of the initiative online using #UWFDayofGiving.

The event is part of UWF’s Founders Week, a weeklong celebration that serves as an opportunity to bring the UWF family together, welcome alumni and visitors to campus and give back to the community. For more information on Founders Week, visit
