UWF to host guest speaker Lt. General Russel Honore in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Honoré, best known for his heroic efforts to restore order in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, is currently a senior scientist with the Gallup Organization and a CNN contributor. He is the author of several books and articles, including his latest work, “Leadership in the New Normal.” Honoré is also the namesake of the Honoré Center for Undergraduate Student Achievement at Southern University in Baton Rouge, La., which is an initiative to reverse the trend of fewer African-American male students graduating from college.

“Like Dr. King, General Honoré believes in the value of hard work and organized effort in difficult times,” said Dr. Kim LeDuff, Chief Diversity Officer at UWF.

This event is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the UWF Office of Equity, Diversity and International Affairs, the John C. Pace Symposium and the UWF Black Employee Association.
