The University of West Florida is pleased to welcome ABC’s Emmy-Award-winning reality television show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, to campus on Tuesday, Oct. 12 for a pep rally in the UWF Field House.

In collaboration with local builder Heritage Homes, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will surprise one Gulf Coast family with a home makeover.

The community pep rally, hosted by Heritage Homes, will educate and inform UWF faculty, staff, students and community residents about volunteering during the home build, as well as how to make donations of supplies. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition relies 100 percent on donations and local volunteers to build a home in one week.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will announce the recipient family on Oct. 18, and the build will take place from Oct. 19 through 24.

The pep rally is free and open to the public, and takes place after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12. Further details will be announced soon.

UWF faculty, staff and students should visit uwf.edu/makeover for the latest updates, as well as information on tracking volunteer hours at the university.
