The 79th Pensacola Historical Society Annual Dinner will be held on Thursday, March 14 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Museum of Commerce in downtown Pensacola. Liz Watkins, executive producer of Pearl Harbor: One Last Goodbye will be the featured guest speaker.

During her presentation, Watkins will describe how several Pensacola veterans made a 6,000-mile journey back to Pearl Harbor as a result of a chance meeting in a local retirement home. Her film will be shown, as well.

The presentation coincides with the final week of the traveling exhibit, “Our Lives, Our Stories: America’s Greatest Generation” in the T.T. Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum. The exhibit is made possible through NEH on the Road, a special initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The annual dinner is open to Historical Society members, as well as community members who are interested in learning more about the organization. The cost to attend the dinner is $20 per person if you RSVP prior to March 14, or $25 per person at the door. The Museum of Commerce is located at 201 East Zaragoza St.
