UWF selects Master Developer for University Park & Northwest Village

UWF Business Enterprises, Inc. (BEI) announces Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, LLC as the Master Developer for the University Park & Northwest Village Development Project. This decision follows the RFQ and RFP processes, in which an evaluation committee participated in assessing several firms. President Judy Bense approved the committee’s recommendation.

The team is comprised of several local firms, including Baskerville Donovan Engineering, Caldwell and Associates, Architects and Interiors and the Morette Construction Company, which will work with UWF BEI to develop the Campus Master Plan for the two campus locations, providing further planning, analysis, financing, design, construction and various functions to be negotiated for the project.

The comprehensive project scope will be vetted and determined by the Master Developer and UWF BEI. The development will be phased over a 10-year period, with the projects within University Park & Northwest Village prioritized to best meet the needs of UWF’s growing campus.

University Park is within the south central area of campus, which includes current facilities, such as the UWF Field House, Health & Leisure Building and the Wellness Center. The project concept includes potential facilities, such as a new student union, additional housing facilities, a football stadium, a parking garage, as well as a plaza and bell tower.

Northwest Village is a proposed 55+ active adult community, to be developed on west campus, north of Greenbrier Road. The purpose of Northwest Village is to provide living options for lifelong learners, those actively interested in community involvement, as well as retired faculty and others with university affiliations.
