UWF Presidential Search Committee to host open forum with presidential search firm

The University of West Florida’s Presidential Search Committee will seek input regarding the presidential search through open forum meetings on March 7 and 8, 2016.

On Feb. 22, 2016, the UWF Presidential Search Committee selected Greenwood/Asher and Associates, Inc. as the official search firm for the UWF Presidential Search. Greenwood/Asher and Associates, Inc. will be present during these open forum meetings for feedback. Greenwood/Asher and Associates, Inc. will meet with a variety of community members, faculty, staff and students during this visit. These meetings are open to the public.

“We believe it is important to hear from all the university’s supporters, faculty, students and alumni about the qualities they seek in the next UWF president,” said UWF Trustee Mort O’Sullivan, chair of the UWF Presidential Search Committee. “We want all our stakeholders to be engaged in this process. We will use the information from the open forum meetings to help develop the presidential search criteria.”

The University of West Florida is currently conducting a search for the sixth president of the University. In December 2015, Board of Trustees Chair Lewis Bear, Jr. named a Presidential Search Committee to assume the task of searching for a dynamic and competent individual to assume the leadership of the University of West Florida. Chairman Bear appointed Board of Trustees Vice Chair, Mort O’Sullivan to chair the 20-member committee.
