UWF Notice: Severe Weather: Jan. 11, 2020

University officials are closely monitoring the severe weather that is forecast for Northwest Florida on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020. All University of West Florida locations remain open at this time. If conditions change, the University will update the campus community.

The greatest risk is projected to occur across southeast Mississippi and southwest Alabama. The primary threats for Northwest Florida include damaging winds up to 40 mph and potential tornadoes. The majority of the severe weather will impact the area beginning Saturday morning and leave the area by Saturday evening.

University officials encourage students, faculty and staff to learn more about storm preparedness at uwf.edu/uwfstorm. Weather information is available by tuning into WUWF at 88.1FM or online at wuwf.org. Updates from the National Weather Service are available at www.weather.gov/mob/ and twitter.com/NWSMobile.
