UWF Notice: Coronavirus Update: March 12, 2020

As announced yesterday, UWF will move to remote instruction effective Monday, March 16, to minimize health and safety risks to the UWF community. Remote instruction will continue for at least two weeks, until March 30, 2020.

With new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Florida every day, this decision prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of our campus community members—many of whom have traveled during spring break. It also aligns with guidance from the Florida Board of Governors and the steps all public universities in Florida are taking.

All UWF locations remain open for employees, who are expected to continue working. Employees should review the Frequently Asked Questions available at uwf.edu/coronavirus for more information regarding reporting to work.

UNIVERSITY EVENTS

All university-sponsored events scheduled from March 16, 2020, until March 30, 2020, taking place on campus, at other UWF instructional sites or off-campus must be postponed, canceled or virtually conducted.

Faculty and staff business meetings will continue as scheduled, unless notified otherwise. Faculty and staff should consider hosting meetings virtually, when possible.

Student organizations are advised to visit ArgoPulse for further guidance on events.

Additional information and Frequently Asked Questions are available at uwf.edu/coronavirus. The University will continue providing updates as soon as information is available.

Email Scam Awareness

In situations that garner worldwide attention or even national attention, malicious actors often create imposter or forged websites purporting to provide new information or asking you to donate or contribute to humanitarian aid. Please be on high alert and do not follow links found in unexpected emails. Even if you suspect a link is valid, do not use your work computer to investigate it. We are all counting on each other for the health and security of the UWF Network.
