UWF names Associate Vice President for Human Resources
The University of West Florida has named Jamie Sprague the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, effective Jan. 2, 2018.
In this role, Sprague will develop and implement policies, processes and training, while providing coaching and consultation for supervisors and administration. She will oversee budget priorities and strategic planning for Human Resources. Additionally, she will interpret laws, rules, policies and procedures and play a key role in proposals, recommendations and reports for administration.
“I look forward to working with Jamie in this new role,” said UWF President Martha Saunders. “During her time at UWF, she has proved to be an effective director with a heart for our people. I expect good things under her leadership.”
Sprague joined UWF in 2012 and has held various positions, including her most recent role as Associate Director of Human Resources. In this position, she manages the employee relations program and coordinates all major employment processes within the department.
“I am excited to take on this new leadership role of AVP for Human Resources at UWF,” Sprague said. “I look forward to working with Dr. Saunders, senior leadership and all employees in this new role. It is an exciting time at UWF, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team.”
Sprague received a master’s degree in secondary education history and bachelor’s degree in secondary education history and sociology from the University of West Alabama. She also earned an Alabama teaching certificate in 1997, and a human resources management certificate through George Washington University in 2006.
