UWF to host Grand Opening for Presidents Hall

The University of West Florida will celebrate the grand opening of Presidents Hall, the newest residence hall on campus, on Friday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. The ceremony will include a ribbon cutting dedication, followed by light refreshments and tours of Presidents Hall.

Presidents Hall opened its doors to students on Aug. 25. The suite-style residence hall houses 252 students in their second year of college. It features double and single rooms, furnished with extra-long twin beds, desks and drawers. Students have cable television access, wireless Internet, private bathrooms, a refrigerator and microwave, as well as access to coin-operated laundry facilities on the second and fourth floors. The building also houses a Papa Johns restaurant and convenience store.

Presidents Hall is a companion building to Heritage Hall, which opened in August 2011. It is the home for students enrolled in Oracle, a second year experience program that helps students see the connection between academics, career choices and leadership opportunities. Students are housed in one residence hall so that they experience campus life and the academic classroom together.

UWF has a total of eight residential communities, housing over 2,100 students on campus. For additional information about UWF housing, visit the Housing and Residence Life website at uwf.edu/housing.
