UWF to host 35th annual national flag football championships

The University of West Florida and the Pensacola Sports Association will host the 35th annual NIRSA National Flag Football Championships Jan. 2 to 4, 2015 at the Ashton Brosnaham Complex. Registration is currently open for both the collegiate and open divisions until Tuesday, Dec. 9 for college and Monday, Dec. 29 for open teams.

Registration is currently open for both the collegiate and open divisions until Tuesday, Dec. 9 for college and Monday, Dec. 29 for open teams.

The collegiate division is open to teams from four-year universities and junior or community colleges. All others are invited to participate in the open men’s division, including teams with faculty or staff members or those affiliated with the military. Teams registered for the open men’s division will play on Jan. 3 and 4.

The NIRSA National Flag Football Championships is a pool play tournament, with at least the top two teams of each pool advancing to a single elimination playoff. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of two games.

This year, the first place winner of the open men’s division tournament will receive a $1,000 cash prize. Registration is $400 per team.
