UWF Expands Partnership with Gulf Coast State College
The University of West Florida and Gulf Coast State College are proud to announce the expansion of the current GCSC2UWF Program with a new articulation agreement. Through this partnership, students have the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality, Recreation and Resort Management from UWF at Gulf Coast State College. This collaborative effort of both colleges provides students with a solid foundation in the technical knowledge and skills necessary for a career in the hospitality industry.
Dr. Jim Kerley, GCSC President, and Melanie Boyd, GCSC Chair of the Business & Technology Division, as well as Dr. Judith Bense, UWF President, and Dr. Stacie Whinnery, UWF Interim Dean of the College of Professional Studies, spoke today at a press conference about details and benefits of the program.
“We’re thrilled to have such a great partnership with Gulf Coast State College, enabling us to provide a seamless transition for Northwest Florida students,” said Bense. “This area serves as a living laboratory where students apply the knowledge and theories they learn in the classroom in a real-world environment.”
All lower division courses leading up to the bachelor’s degree are offered at Gulf Coast, as well as all upper division courses taught by UWF faculty in online format, face-to-face classes, or a combination of the two. To learn more about GCSC2UWF, visit gcsc2.uwf.edu.
