UWF Dept. of Music presents fall Chamber Music Concerts

The University of West Florida Department of Music will present an afternoon of chamber music on Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6 at noon at Old Christ Church in Historic Pensacola, located at 405 South Adams St.

Wednesday, Oct. 4: noon – “Mostly Mozart”

In the season opener for the concert series, members of the Chamber Music Class will perform a wide variety of chamber music repertoire featuring many different instruments and groups. They will play pieces written for piano, harpsichord, flute, trumpet and marimba. The program will also include compositions by Mozart, Brahms, Handel, Tchaikovsky and others.

Wednesday, Nov. 1:  noon – “Upbeat – Downbeat”

The second concert of the series will feature a variety of pieces written for voice, piano, harpsichord, percussions, flute and organ. The class will also perform some interesting transcriptions for four trumpets.

Wednesday, Dec. 6noon – “Celebrate the Season”

The Chamber Music Class celebrates the season with merry melodies by performing works of Bach, Handel, Mozart, Grieg and others. The program also includes traditional Christmas music.
