UWF Department of Music presents Pamela Ryan, viola

On Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m., the University of West Florida Department of Music will present violist Pamela Ryan as part of the Music Hall Artist Series. The event will be held in the Music Hall at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82, on the UWF Pensacola Campus.

The concert will feature works by Max Reger, marking the 100th year of his death, and a  Shostakovich Sonata. In addition, Ryan will perform a Mozart String Quintet along with UWF students.

The “American Record Guide” has praised Ryan for her “superb technique and musicianship.” Since performing as winner of the Aspen Music Festival Young Artist Concerto Competition, she has given master classes and performed as soloist and chamber musician in Asia, Europe and North America. She has served on summer festival artist faculties of Aspen, Bowdoin, Brevard, Green Mountain and Yellow Barn. Ryan maintains a large and vibrant studio at Florida State University. Her former students hold professional viola positions in the United States, Brazil, Ireland, Thailand and Turkey.

Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $10 for UWF faculty and staff and non-UWF students, and $5 for high school students. UWF students are admitted free with a Nautilus Card. For more information or to reserve tickets, please contact the CFPA Box Office at 850.857.6285.
