UWF to welcome new Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Affairs
The University of West Florida announces Joffery Gaymon as the new Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Affairs, effective July 15, 2013. In this position, Gaymon will be responsible for directing recruitment and admissions, financial aid, records and registration, and campus wide enrollment management oversight. In addition, she will work with other senior university officers and the Board of Trustees, to collaborate in the development of recruitment, marketing and retention strategies to achieve university-wide enrollment, retention and graduation goals on the undergraduate and graduate levels.
“I am delighted to welcome Joffery Gaymon to the Academic Affairs division,” said Provost Martha Saunders. “She comes to us with good experience and high praise for her work ethic and team-oriented approach to problem solving. I am very much looking forward to working closely with her as we develop and implement our plans for sustainable enrollment growth.”
Currently, Gaymon serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management & Director of Admissions at the University of South Carolina Beaufort, providing comprehensive enrollment strategies and university-wide enrollment management efforts.
“I am thrilled to join a campus community that is embarking on a pivotal phase,” said Gaymon. “I have spent much of my career helping institutions shape their enrollment strategy and I look forward to continuing that tradition by aiding in positioning UWF as a premier, first choice institution.”
Prior to her tenure at the University of South Carolina Beaufort, Gaymon held numerous roles at Georgia College & State University including Senior Associate Director of Admissions, Associate Director of Admissions, Assistant Director of Admissions and Acting Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. She has also served as a university professor, teaching undergraduate level courses at Georgia College & State University. Dr. Gaymon has chaired and served on numerous committees at both of her previous institutions.
As an avid member of her professional community, Gaymon has been involved in selected memberships in both professional and community organizations, including Omicron Delta Kappa, Zeta Phi Beta, Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, Carolina Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, Georgia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, Georgia College & State University Black Alumni Club and Georgia College & State University Board of Directors.
Gaymon is a graduate of Georgia College & State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and a master’s degree in Public Administration. She will receive her doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University later this year.
