Returning to UWF: Recreation Reopen
The University of West Florida Health, Leisure and Sports Facility and the Aquatic Center officially reopened and will operate on reduced hours.
Fitness equipment and spaces have been modified to meet safe distancing measures.
Requirements:
- Face coverings are required in the buildings, but may be removed while working out or swimming.
- Anyone visiting UWF Recreation must complete the Daily COVID-19 Pre-screening prior to visiting.
- UWF Recreation is only open to currently enrolled UWF students, employees and existing members. Guest passes will not be honored at this time.
Health, Leisure and Sports Facility
Entry into HLS will be contact-free using UWF Recreation’s app barcode scanning feature. The app is available for download on iPhone and Android by searching “UWF Recreation and Wellness.” Those who access the gym can also self-swipe using their Nautilus Card to enter the facility.
Reservations are required to use the facility and may be made up to 72 hours in advance through the UWF Recreation app or visiting IMLeagues.
Anyone using gym equipment will be required to clean it before and after use. Additional cleaning stations are made available for your convenience.
HLS will operate as two separate facilities; lower fitness and upper fitness. One reservation will not allow an individual to use both lower and upper fitness facilities.
Lower Fitness equipment includes: Nautilus selectorized machines, squat racks, lifting platforms, cable crossover, flat/incline/decline benches, Rogue Rig, dumbbells, functional equipment AND a select number of cardio machines.
Upper Fitness equipment includes: treadmills, ellipticals, rowers, bikes, stepmills, upper body ergometer, dumbbells and functional equipment.

Aquatic Center
The Aquatic Center will be open to current members for lap/fitness swimming only. The locker rooms, showers, hot tub, sauna and recreational swimming will remain unavailable.

Please remain in your vehicle until the Center has opened to avoid crowding at the door. In the event there is a line, six-foot markers have been placed on the floor to ensure social distancing is maintained.
