Historic Pensacola 27th Annual Open House set for June 3

The University of West Florida Historic Trust invites the community to Historic Pensacola’s 27th Annual Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. All venues and events are free and open to the public.

The Open House includes admission to the Historic Pensacola Village, the T. T. Wentworth, Jr. Museum, the Pensacola Children’s Museum and the Voices of Pensacola presented by Gulf Power. Guided tours of Old Christ Church, the Dorr House, the Lavalle House and the Lear/Rocheblave House will be offered every thirty minutes from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Living history demonstrations interpreting life in Colonial Pensacola will be held throughout the day in the Historic Pensacola Village. Demonstrations include broom and candle making, woodcarving, bee keeping and more. Children are invited to visit the Pensacola Children’s Museum to meet Green Bean the Dinosaur and friends, participate in the scavenger hunt and race in Tour de Luna for a chance to win a free, private birthday party at the museum.

Additional organizations participating in the Open House include the UWF Archaeology Institute, Florida Public Archaeology Network, the Pensacola Archaeological Society, Little Green Bees, Mobile Medical Museum, Poarch Creek Indians, Flora-Bama Cutups, Pensacola Mountain Dulcimer Wildflowers, West Florida Fiber Guild, Pensacola Quilters Guild, Charlotte Mason Printing Company and Harvester’s Federal Credit Union.

The Historic Pensacola complex is located between Plaza Ferdinand and Seville Square from Church Street south to Bayfront Parkway.
