UWF issues Call for Presentations for 2014 MEN Conference

The University of West Florida is calling for presentations for the 2014 MEN’s Conference that are a good fit for this year’s theme, “Honoring our Fathers, Sons, Brothers and Ourselves.” Proposals for panels and presentations should be submitted by July 28.

Panels will consist of 3-5 people, including a moderator, and will present views on a common theme, question or topics related to men’s issues. The panel will also answer questions from participants. Panel discussions will last approximately 45 minutes.

Presentations of research or topics related to men’s issues should focus on men from different cultures, parenting, relationships, politics, law, military, masculinity, sexuality and/or age. Time slots for presentations are 25 or 45 minutes and include time for discussion and questions from participants.

Panels or presentations can be submitted through the Proposal Form at uwf.edu/mensconference.

The conference is part of a new initiative, known as University of West Florida Men’s Empowerment Network, or UWF MEN. The program is designed to offer academic and social support as well as mentoring opportunities for male college students at UWF.
