UWF Notice: Severe Weather: University Closing at 3 p.m.

University officials are closely monitoring the severe weather that is forecast for today, Dec. 14 through Thursday, Dec. 15 early morning in Northwest Florida. The upcoming severe weather, which is projected to move into the Pensacola area late this afternoon, has the potential for strong tornadoes, wind speeds up to 70 mph, heavy rainfall and hail. Out of an abundance of caution, the University of West Florida will close at 3 p.m. today.

Normal University operations will resume on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 5 a.m., unless conditions change, in which case, University officials will notify the campus community. 

To ensure you receive future University communications, confirm that your contact information is up-to-date in the University’s communication system, “Mobile Alert.” Log in to my.uwf.edu and search “Mobile Alert” to update and add contact information.
