Below are additional updates for the campus community.

University Housing
All students living in university housing are strongly encouraged to return to permanent home residences or on-campus alternative housing arrangement, for the remainder of the semester, if possible. UWF will continue to accommodate those with extenuating circumstances and work with students who are unable to return home during this time period on an individual basis.

In the event students need to remain on campus, please fill out the Extenuating Circumstances Exception Form for approval. Students who were previously approved to stay on campus during the recent two week closure (March 14 – March 29, 2020) MUST also complete this form.

UWF Housing and Residence Life will email residents details on procedures for how students may return to campus and how students departing campus may retrieve their belongings this week. We will also provide move-out guidelines in an effort to avoid mass gatherings in campus housing.

The University of West Florida is actively working with the Florida Board of Governors, as well as the state universities to determine options regarding refunds and credits for room and board and meal plans. There are a variety of factors to consider, such as financial aid implications, and we want to ensure that the decision that is made does not have a negative impact on students. We will communicate with students as soon as a decision is made.

Please contact Housing and Residence Life at housing@uwf.edu with any questions.

Withdrawal Deadline
The withdrawal deadline for Spring 2020 semester for Part of Terms 1 and 3 has been extended to April 13.

Events and Activities
All university-sponsored events scheduled through May 5, 2020 are postponed, canceled or being virtually conducted. Business meetings may be conducted virtually or in-person as long as social-distancing procedures are followed.

Campus Services
Campus facilities, including but not limited to Health, Leisure, and Sports Facility, Aquatic Center, University Libraries and athletic facilities will be closed for the remainder of the spring semester through May 5, 2020.

Resources
As a part of our efforts to make the transition to online learning as smooth and seamless as possible for students, the UWF John C. Pace Library is providing a limited number of laptops for students who do not have a computer to check out for the rest of the semester. These laptops will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis for those who fill out this form as soon as possible.
