UWF Department of Music presents The Perdido Brass

The University of West Florida Department of Music presents The Perdido Brass in concert. The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7 in the Music Hall, located in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, located in Building 82.

The University of West Florida Department of Music presents The Perdido Brass in concert. The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7 in the Music Hall, located in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, located in Building 82.

The program includes works by Handel and J.S. Bach, as well as the “Second Brass Quintet” by Victor Ewald, the “Colchester Fantasy” by Eric Ewazen and two arrangements by Jonathan Martin – “Allegré” by Claude Bolling and “Take Five” by Paul Desmond.

The Perdido Brass includes trumpeters Dale Riegle and Jonathan Martin, horn player Stuart Kinney, trombonist Bret Barrow and bass trombonist Wess Hillman. The group was formed in the summer of 1988 and has been featured on the “Music at Christ Church” series, as part of the “Seaside Institute’s Concert Series,” the “Perdido Pops Concert Series” at Big Lagoon State Recreation Area in Pensacola, and the “St. James Concert Series” in Fairhope. The Perdido Brass has also been featured as part of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra “pops” concerts and televised broadcasts. The Perdido Brass was also a special guest on WUWF’s “RadioLive” program.
