UWF Department of Music presents Fall 2018 chamber music recitals

The University of West Florida Department of Music will present an afternoon of chamber music on Wednesday, Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5 at noon at Old Christ Church in Historic Pensacola at 405 South Adams St.

Wednesday, Oct. 3: Noon

To kick off its 16th season, members of the Chamber Music class will present a versatile program featuring outstanding vocalists, pianists, brass and string players. They will perform works by Pergolesi, Marcello, Saint Saens, Schubert, Schumann and others. The audience will also hear prize winners of international piano competitions and students who were featured at the Kennedy Center last summer.

Wednesday, Nov. 7: Noon – “Mostly Romantic”

Members of the Chamber Music class will present a concert featuring many talented, young musicians; some of them were winners of international competitions. The audience will hear works by Rimsky-Korsakov, Vivaldi, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and others. As always, the program will include arias, duets, trios and art songs.

Wednesday, Dec. 5: Noon – “Celebrate the Season”

Members of the Chamber Music class celebrate the holiday season with music by Bach, Handel, Mozart and others. The program also includes traditional Christmas songs and sing-alongs of popular melodies.
