UWF Notice: Tropical Storm Marco and Tropical Storm Laura

University officials are continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Marco and Tropical Storm Laura. The University of West Florida remains operational at this time. If conditions change, the University will update the campus community.

According to the most recent update from the National Weather Service:

  • A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the Pensacola area through tomorrow morning, Tuesday, Aug. 25.
  • Tropical Storm Marco is forecast to make landfall near southeast Louisiana tonight or early Tuesday as a tropical storm.
  • Tropical Storm Laura is forecast to approach Louisiana or the upper Texas coast late Wednesday or early Thursday, potentially as a strong hurricane. Minor coastal flooding is likely through Wednesday.
