UWF and Gulf Islands National Seashore to host event celebrating new partnership

WHAT: The University of West Florida is partnering with Gulf Islands National Seashore to establish the Gulf Islands Research and Education Center. The GIREC will seek to engage scientists, students and the public in conservation, research and science education. UWF President Judith Bense will join Park Superintendent Dan Brown and Sherri Fields from the Washington DC office of the National Park Service to formally establish the GIREC with a signing ceremony and kick-off event.
