The Florida Board of Governors approved the University of West Florida’s Fall 2020 Reopening Plan during its meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. The plan was approved by UWF’s Board of Trustees on June 19, 2020.

This plan will include a phased return for employees that will begin in June and a student return for the fall semester.

As a shortage of full face shields for healthcare workers grips the nation in the battle against COVID-19, the University of West Florida responded by asking one of the University’s direct support organizations to manufacture, manage and distribute 3D-printed full face shield supplies at its Sea3D Additive Manufacturing Laboratory in downtown Pensacola. The full face shields will be free of charge and distribution is set to begin on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
The State University System of Florida has mandated all universities transition to remote instruction, effective immediately. Face-to-face instruction is currently set to resume on March 30, 2020. If this date changes, the University will notify the campus community. At this time, there have been no identified COVID-19 cases at the University of West Florida.
