UWF Notice: Coronavirus: New Test Site to Open on Campus for Escambia and Santa Rosa County Residents

At the request of the Governor’s office, the direction of the Florida Department of Emergency Management with the support of the Florida Department of Health, Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties will open a new mobile testing site to the public on Saturday, May 2 at the University of West Florida. The drive-through test site will be open for two weeks from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. 

UWF Notice: Coronavirus: Pass/Fail Grading Option Deadline Extended

In a continued effort to ensure our students are academically successful, the University has extended the deadline to select the Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grading option for the Spring 2020 semester. Students must submit their request for S/U grading by 5 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2020.

The recently enacted federal CARES Act provided money to colleges and universities for emergency student grants. The purpose of the money is to award emergency financial aid grants to students for specific expenses that are a direct result of the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus.

In an effort to support our students, the University will make a temporary modification to the UWF grading policy for the Spring 2020 semester. All undergraduate and graduate students will have the option to convert courses to satisfactory (S) or unsatisfactory (U) grading, otherwise referred to as Pass/Fail.
