Students Participate in FWB Chamber Meeting
Fort Walton Beach – Hospitality management students from the University of West Florida’s Fort Walton Beach Campus made presentations at the recent meeting of the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce tourism committee.
Several students in the Managing Front Office Operations course completed front-desk training and developed procedure manuals for local hotels, including the Holiday Inn Resort in Fort Walton Beach and the Hampton Inn & Suites in Navarre.
Another group, made up of students in the Marketing Essentials course, presented an overview of a case study they spent a semester preparing. Their presentation was called “Okaloosa Gas Company: Redesign a Service Company from the Customer’s Perspective.” Suggestions included rethinking how service appointments are scheduled, adding auxiliary buildings closer to service locations and reconsidering methods of communication.
The UWF students who participated in the chamber meeting included Tamara Saenz-Marmol, Abby Sciarrotta, Meagan Hale, Holly Worthy, Christian Troutman and Stevie Sheets.
