Economic Report: Florida’s Economy Looking Bright in 2017

Consumers in Florida are feeling very positive about the state’s economy at the moment, and they’re confident that it will stay that way for the near future, according to a University of Florida survey. In this week’s “Economic Report,” UWF economist Dr. Rick Harper spoke with WUWF 88.1-FM’s Sandra Averhart about his take on Florida’s economic outlook, particularly as Florida’s strong job market continues to shift its focus. “We offer retirement services that people travel thousands of miles and leave their home in the frozen north lands to enjoy,” Harper said. “Jobs are growing in the areas of the Florida economy that service retirees and the same thing is true for tourism.” To read the complete report, click here.
