Update - Oct. 14, 2026 - 4 p.m. The University of West Florida will reopen to faculty and staff on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026. All UWF classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026, allowing students time to return and faculty and staff time to prepare for the resumption of instruction.

UWF ranks No. 2 in Florida State University System Board of Governors’ performance metrics, first to meet every accountability goal
The University of West Florida ranked No. 2 among Florida's 12 public universities in the Florida Board of Governors' 2025-26 performance-based funding model and was the only institution in the State University System to meet all 11 accountability goals. UWF earned 92 out of 100 points, one point higher than last year, trailing only the University of South Florida.
