UWF Rite of Passage Series to feature Professor Sikha Bagui

Dr. Sikha Bagui, professor and chair of computer science at the University of West Florida, will present the upcoming Rite of Passage lecture titled, “The Transformation of Data,” on Friday, March 28 at 2 p.m. in the Argonaut Athletic Club at UWF.

Dr. Sikha Bagui, professor and chair of computer science at the University of West Florida, will present the upcoming Rite of Passage lecture titled, “The Transformation of Data,” on Friday, March 28 at 2 p.m. in the Argonaut Athletic Club at UWF.

The UWF Rite of Passage Lecture Series is a distinguished lecture series celebrating UWF faculty who were recently promoted to full professor. The series gives professors the opportunity to share life lessons outside of the classroom with colleagues, students, friends and community members.

Bagui actively publishes in peer reviewed journals, and her works have been published in high-quality, peer-reviewed, national and international journals like Pattern Recognition, International Journal of Data Warehousing and Mining, International Journal of Data Analysis and Information Systems and International Journal of Knowledge Engineering and Data Mining. Bagui is associate editor for International Journal of Advanced Computer Science and Applications and serves on the editorial board for several other journals.

Bagui has co-authored several books on database and SQL. Her books have been published by some of the top computer science publishers, including Addison Wesley/Pearson, O’Reilly Publishers, Jones and Bartlett, CRC Press and Taylor and Francis. Bagui’s books have also gained international recognition and have been published and translated into two foreign languages.

A reception will follow the lecture, and the event is free and open to the public.
