UWF Notice: UWF Remains Closed Jan. 23-24 for Winter Weather

Out of an abundance of caution, all UWF locations will remain closed Thursday, January 23, and Friday, January 24. This includes all classes, events, campus activities and online courses. The Board of Trustees meeting for Thursday, January 23, at 10 a.m. will continue as scheduled and can be streamed live via Zoom (Passcode: 022020) or wuwf.org/bot. Normal University operations, classes, events and campus activities will resume on Monday, January 27, unless conditions change, in which case, University officials will notify all students, faculty and staff.

Due to the projected extreme winter weather conditions, all UWF locations will close Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22. This includes all classes, events, campus activities and online courses. Normal University operations, classes, events and campus activities will resume on Thursday, January 23, unless conditions change, in which case, University officials will notify all students, faculty and staff.

According to the most recent update from the National Weather Service, the Pensacola area is expected to have bitter cold weather conditions Monday, January 20, to Wednesday, January 22, and receive up to three inches of snow Tuesday morning through early Tuesday evening. Students, faculty and staff are advised to use their best judgment when traveling during freezing weather conditions.

As local school districts close for winter weather, the University understands this may affect employees and students with children in school. If you are impacted by a local school closure, please contact your supervisor or instructor.
