UWF Notice: Monitoring Tropical Storm Fred

University officials are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Fred, which is currently a tropical storm in the central Gulf of Mexico. All University of West Florida locations remain open at this time. If conditions change, the University will update the campus community.

According to the most recent update from the National Weather Service, the path of Tropical Storm Fred is expected to make landfall along the Gulf Coast Monday night. The Pensacola area is currently under a Tropical Storm Watch. The local impacts will be heavy rain and wind; primarily along and east of the center of the storm, high surf and dangerous rip currents beginning Monday morning through early Tuesday morning.
