UWF graduates 2014-15 LEAD: the Staff Version class
Today, the University of West Florida hosted a graduation ceremony for its 2014-15 graduates of LEAD: the Staff Version program. LEAD (leadership, enhancement, activities and development) is a ten month-long UWF leadership program designed for University staff to cultivate opportunities for leadership development.
Approximately 15 participants are selected annually to take part in monthly leadership retreats, field trips and personal interactions with UWF leaders. In addition, the class hosts roundtable discussions on project management, servant leadership, event planning, conflict management, public speaking skills and more.
Each year, the LEAD class chooses to construct a project that will benefit the UWF campus community. This year’s class created a marked fitness trail on the UWF Pensacola campus that promotes healthy living and establishes an accessible way for UWF and the greater Pensacola community to engage in physical activity outdoors. The project is in progress and is scheduled to be completed in fall 2015.
The graduates of the 2014-15 class include Bonnie Bell, Dan Bevil, Amber Bloechle, Krista Boren, Mandy Fernandez, Lynnsey Horton, Debbie Humphrey, Eric Kollar, William Mills, Bob Pacenta, Barbara Partrick, Summer Reilly, Tom Schwingle and Latrice Soularie. Participants emerge from the program having gained valuable leadership skills through hands-on projects from this two-semester experience.
