Pensacola Beach – Dozens of experts gathered at the Hampton Inn last week to discuss and develop guidelines relating to the integrity of research when sensitive populations such as veterans, the elderly, the homeless and other special needs groups are the subject.
The University of West Florida is expanding its offerings of 100-percent online graduate degree programs with the addition of an advanced nursing degree with two specializations, and an MBA program with four areas of emphasis to choose from. UWF has contracted with Academic Partnerships to provide broad-based services in support of the university’s new online degree programs.
The University of West Florida was named among the 2014 “Best of the Best” lists by U.S. Veterans Magazine.
Elizabeth Jones recently became the first student veteran at the University of West Florida to receive a scholarship through the Student Veterans of America. Jones was selected for the Rockwell Collins-Student Veterans of America Wounded Veteran Scholarship, totaling $5,000.
The University of West Florida is known for being a military-friendly school. In fact, UWF was named one of the country's top military-friendly schools by Military Advanced Education magazine this year. Living up to its name, UWF helps prepare certain students for successful careers in the Navy. Both Daniel Craig and Philip Nadenbousch, UWF engineering majors who attend classes at the University of Florida Research Engineering and Education Facility (REEF), located adjacent to Eglin Air Force Base in Shalimar, were recently accepted into the Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) program with the Navy.
