UWF to host eighth annual Student Transition Conference

The University of West Florida will host the eighth annual Student Transition Conference on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the University Conference Center. The conference is for professionals, teachers, agency representatives and administrators who work with persons with disabilities.

The conference will focus on transitioning into the world of work. Featured speakers include Jordan Knab, commissioner on the Governor’s Commission on Jobs for Floridians with Disabilities, and JR Harding, external affairs manager for the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.

The discussions will highlight building community partnerships and establishing networks to increase the number of persons with disabilities in the work force and initiatives from the perspective of the State of Florida. Information regarding the Florida Consortium on Postsecondary Education for Students with Intellectual Disabilities will also be provided.
