UWF Department of Music presents the Symphonic Band in Concert

The University of West Florida Department of Music will present the Symphonic Band in “Simply Fun," its first concert of the spring semester, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The concert will be held in the Mainstage Theatre of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, located in Building 82.

The University of West Florida Department of Music will present the Symphonic Band in “Simply Fun,” its first concert of the spring semester, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The concert will be held in the Mainstage Theatre of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, located in Building 82.

The concert will feature the world premiere of “Simply Fun,” a new work by UWF composer Joseph Spaniola, which features classic cartoon tunes. The program will also include several fun and lighthearted pieces, such as “Serendipity” by Spaniola and “Noisy Wheels of Joy” by award-winning composer Eric Whitacre.

Richard Glaze directs the UWF Symphonic Band. Chelsey Brunson and Karma Metzger will be featured as student conductors.
