UWF Department of Music presents Dr. Hedi Salanki-Rubardt and Blake Riley in a duo piano faculty recital

The University of West Florida Department of Music presents Dr. Hedi Salanki-Rubardt and Mr. Blake Riley in a duo faculty piano recital “From Bach to Joplin.” The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 10 in the Music Hall at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82.

In addition to works of Bach and Joplin, the duo will perform the music of Kuhlau, Kreisler and Ravel including the “Pavane for a Dead Princess,” written in 1899, which helped Ravel to achieve popularity.

The concert will end with a piece written for two pianos and eight hands. UWF students Meredith Stemen and Daniel Thomas will join Salanki and Riley in playing Kevin Olson’s “A Scott Joplin Rag Rhapsody.”

Dr. Hedi Salanki-Rubardt, distinguished professor and director of piano and chamber music, teaches piano and harpsichord performance, keyboard interpretation, musical structure and style, and chamber music. She is also recognized as a Yamaha Artist.

Blake Riley, assistant professor and director of collaborative piano, teaches class piano, applied piano and foreign language lyric diction.
