UWF Argo Fan Shop to host grand opening

The University of West Florida will host the grand opening of the Argo Fan Shop on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22. The shop, located in the Argonaut Village, was designed to meet the growing demand for UWF gear and apparel on the campus and in the community.

The grand opening will be held in conjunction with the Blue & Green Football Spring Game, which will take place at Pen Air Field at 11 a.m. Saturday. Receipts from purchases at the game can be taken to the Argo Fan Shop to be entered into a drawing for a $10, $25 or $50 gift card. Beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, the store will provide snacks, music, games, and prizes to guests. The grand opening will continue on Sunday at 10 a.m. with snacks. In addition, the store will offer a 10 percent discount, with a chance to spin the wheel for a discount up to 25 percent. The drawing will be held at store closing on Sunday. Individuals who enter do not have to be present to win.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to serve our UWF fans,” said Michelle Bryant, manager of the Argo Fan Shop. “From t-shirts and sweatshirts to stadium chairs and tailgate tents, guests will enjoy our wide assortment of Argo gear.”

The Argonaut Village is a UWF Business Enterprises, Inc. project housing mixed-use restaurant and retail facilities. UWF BEI first broke ground on the project in 2014 and opened the village’s first shop in June 2015. The Argo Fan Shop is one of several other businesses in the village including Boneheads, Starbucks, and Herbal Nails & Spa.

The Argo Fan Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. It is located at the intersection of Highway 90 and Campus Drive near the east entrance of the UWF campus.
