UWF appoints new VP for Student Affairs

The University of West Florida Division of Student Affairs will soon have a new Vice President. Kevin Bailey will join UWF Aug. 1, just in time to welcome students for the upcoming fall semester. Bailey has significant student affairs experience and most recently served as associate vice president of Student Affairs at Tulane University. His experience spans to Millersville University where he served as assistant vice president of Student Affairs and Bowling Green State University where he served as associate dean of Students.

UWF President Judith Bense is delighted to welcome him to the university. “I think Bailey will be a tremendous asset to UWF,” she said. “His contagious enthusiasm will connect him with our students in a special way and I think we will all enjoy working with him.”

Bailey said he can’t wait to start his new job. “Opportunities abound at UWF,” he said. “I’m excited to be joining an institution of growth in a time of economic retrenchment. I look forward to getting to know the UWF community, working with and for the students and contributing to the institution’s success.”

Bailey holds a doctorate in higher education administration from Bowling Green State University, a master’s of student affairs and a bachelor’s in management information systems/accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Bailey also completed a management development program at Harvard University.
