University of West Florida Center on Aging presents ‘Post Election Analysis of Critical Aging Issues for the State of Florida’

The University of West Florida Center on Aging presents “Post Election Analysis of Critical Aging Issues for the State of Florida” by Dr. Larry Polivka on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the UWF Conference Center Auditorium.

The presentation will explore discussions regarding long-term care, affordable health care and economic security for America’s elderly population. This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Larry Polivka is the executive director of the Claude Pepper Center at Florida State University, a foundation in honor of Senator Pepper, to serve as a vehicle to further his efforts, through public policy initiatives, projects and research, health care reform and economic security for elderly Americans. Dr. Polivka served as associate director and associate professor at the School of Aging Studies at the University of South Florida, and was Director of the Florida Policy Center on Aging until 2009.

The University of West Florida Center on Aging was created to improve the quality of life of aging adults through the application of science to address challenges associated with aging and to promote healthy aging, with an emphasis on prevention. The mission will be accomplished through inter-disciplinary and inter-professional efforts of basic and applied research, consultation and partnerships with community agencies.
