University of West Florida to offer 100% online MBAs and graduate nursing degrees

The University of West Florida is expanding its offerings of 100-percent online graduate degree programs with the addition of an advanced nursing degree with two specializations, and an MBA program with four areas of emphasis to choose from. UWF has contracted with Academic Partnerships to provide broad-based services in support of the university’s new online degree programs.

The Department of Nursing-UWF will offer:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with an emphasis in Nursing Leadership and Management
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with an emphasis in Nursing Education

The next application deadline for online MSN classes is Sept. 14, 2015, with classes starting on Oct. 14, 2015.

The Nursing Leadership and Management track is designed for nurses who seek a supervisory or leadership role in the healthcare industry. The Master’s in Nursing Education prepares nurses to become an educator in an academic or hospital setting. Both programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

“UWF’s new graduate nursing degree specializations reflect the increasing demand for a highly educated nursing workforce that can address the growing challenges and complexities in healthcare,” said Chair of the Department of Nursing and Associate Dean of Health Ermalynn M. Kiehl. “Professional nursing continues to be a rewarding lifetime career with many opportunities for advancement.”

The UWF College of Business will offer:

• A general Master of Business Administration (MBA)
• MBA with an emphasis in Accounting
• MBA with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship
• MBA with an emphasis in Supply Chain Logistics Management

The first application deadline for online MBA programs is Sept. 14, 2015, with classes starting on Oct. 14, 2015.

The UWF College of Business is accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Fewer than 4.7 percent of business schools worldwide have earned this symbol of the highest standard in management education.

“Our online MBA programs will deliver the same rigor as their on-campus counterparts and include coursework with a focus on solving real-world business problems through experiential learning and case study analysis,” said College of Business Dean Tim O’Keefe. “UWF students graduate with real-world knowledge and relevant skills that can be immediately applied to enhance their careers.”

UWF was named among “Military Friendly® Schools” in 2015 for a seventh consecutive year by G.I. Jobs Magazine, placing UWF among the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trades schools nationwide that are doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students.
