The Art Gallery at the University of West Florida presents the “2017 TAGGED Student Art and Design Exhibition” from March 30 through April 17. A reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 30. TAG is located in the Center for Fine & Performing Arts, Building 82.

“TAGGED” is an annual juried competition showcasing current UWF student work hosted to foster creativity, passion in the arts and the pursuit of artistic endeavor. Juried exhibitions are also critical in an artist’s practice and development. To fulfill its mission as an academic gallery and as a pedagogical space, TAG produces this show as an opportunity for students to exhibit artwork from a variety of mediums in a professional environment.

The exhibition is open to any UWF student and the faculty from the department of Art serves as the jury. Awards will be chosen by this year’s judge Stephanie Patton, a multi-media artist based out of Lafayette, Louisiana. Patton received her Master of Fine Arts in photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Patton will give an artist talk at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 in the CFPA. Awards will be announced at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 30.

TAG is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. All events are free and open to the public. For more information, visit tag82uwf.wordpress.com, or contact Nick Croghan, Gallery Director, TAG UWF at artgallery@uwf.edu or 850.474.2696.

The Art Gallery at UWF seeks to challenge, stimulate and engage students and the greater public through direct interaction with works of contemporary art.
