The Art Gallery at UWF Presents Josh Green: An Open Studio Summer Residency

The Art Gallery at the University of West Florida presents “Josh Green: An Open Studio Summer Residency.” TAG’s summer residency project is designed to facilitate lively conversations between artists and audiences. Throughout the month of August, each Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m., TAG invites the public to join Green as he utilizes the gallery as an open studio. Please stop in to witness his creative process and ask questions about his work.

UWF alumnus Josh Green has spent the last two years, since graduating, studying drawing and painting at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. In addition to his open studio time, he will be leading several anatomical figure-drawing workshops every Wednesday in August from6 to 9 p.m. These workshops are free and open to the public by reservation only. Participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies. Charcoal and newsprint will be provided. The workshop schedule is as follows:

Wednesday Aug. 3, 6 to 9 p.m.:
Torso Anatomy Workshop

Wednesday Aug. 10, 6 to 9 p.m.:
Anatomy of the Legs Workshop

Wednesday Aug. 17, 6 to 9 p.m.:
Head and Shoulder Girdle Anatomy Workshop

Wednesday Aug. 24, 6 to 9 p.m.:
Anatomy of the Arms Workshop

The completed exhibition, with works from the residency and his time in Italy, opens to the public on Aug. 16. A closing reception will take place on Thursday, Aug. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at TAG, located on the UWF Pensacola Campus in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82. All events are free and open to the public.
