The Art Gallery at UWF presents Ars Musae

The Art Gallery at the University of West Florida presents “Ars Musae,” an open studio residency and exhibition by Marzia Ransom. Every Wednesday and Saturday from July 19 through Aug. 23, Ransom has utilized TAG as an open studio. TAG is located in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Building 82 on the UWF Pensacola Campus.

Marzia Ransom, a UWF alumna who went on to complete a Masters of Fine Art from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, has been invited to use TAG as a public space to experiment and push her craft as a painter, photographer, sculptor and installation artist. The title of the exhibition references the “muses of the arts” and alludes directly to a large-scale painting Ransom is creating. TAG’s summer residency project is designed to give the public a unique view into the creative process that is not usually seen and facilitate conversations between audiences and artists.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from noon until 4 p.m. The public is invited to a gallery talk and closing reception on Thursday, Sept. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m.
