Staff and students take home multiple ADDY awards

The University of West Florida’s (UWF) Marketing and Creative Services (M&CS) team won six local ADDY awards from the American Advertising Federation on Feb. 25, including three gold awards and three silver awards. The team also took home a coveted Judge’s Choice award.

The awards honor creativity and success in advertising campaigns and participants compete on a three-tiered level. Because UWF took home the local awards, they are automatically entered in the district level for the right to go on to the national level.

“I am so proud of the dedication, professionalism and altogether excellence that our team displays with each and every project,” said Sabrina McLaughlin, executive director of M&CS.

UWF has had active members in the Pensacola Bay Area American Advertising Federation for more than 15 years and M&CS has received multiple high honors from the organization.

UWF students also took home a total of 13 student awards. M&CS sponsored the student competition, which is a great way for students to gain valuable experience in the industry and give them an edge in the job market.
