Total Enrollment

  • Total Enrollment: 12,021, an increase of 2.7%
  •        Undergraduate: 9,625, 3.7% increase
  •        Graduate: 1,759, 2.9% increase

New Freshmen

  • Applications: 5,629, an increase of 20%
  • Enrolled: 1,463, an increase of 17%
  •        In state: 1,343
  •        Out of state: 120, 36% increase
  • 34% of class ethnically diverse, a 9 percent increase
  • Average high school grade point average: 3.48
  • Average SAT: 1,007
  • Average ACT: 22.75, higher than state of Florida average of 19

Housing & Residence Life

  • On-campus housing at 97 percent occupancy (1,807); expected this to increase to 100 percent, with 1,865 students living on campus
  • 112 new parking spaces added since spring
  • Goal of 30 percent of students living and learning on campus, a total of 3,600 students
  • Added one new trolley this year, which will decrease wait times by about seven minutes (three trolleys total on campus)

New Transfers

  • Applications: 2,906, a 9 percent increase
  • Enrolled: 1,258, a 5 percent increase

Retention

  • 75 percent of first-time-in-college (FTIC) students from Fall 2010 returned for Fall 2011
