University of West Florida to host 15th annual U.S.-Japan Social Welfare Symposium

The University of West Florida (UWF) will host the 15th annual U.S.-Japan Social Welfare Symposium on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 1 to 4:45 p.m. at the UWF Conference Center. The symposium is organized by the UWF Department of Social Work and the Japan Center/Jikei-American Center.

The event will feature two keynote speakers. Tetsuyuki Sawa, Director of Social Welfare Council of Saitama Prefectural Government in Japan, will present “Progress and Challenges Faced after the March 3, 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami.” John Clark, President/CEO of the Council on Aging of West Florida, will speak on “Aging Services in America.” Breakout sessions will follow the keynote speakers.
